About Blackwater Heartwood Salvage, LLC

Blackwater Heartwood Salvage, LLC has been traveling the waterways of Florida, in search of the finest river recovered heart pine and heart cypress that the state of Florida has to offer.

Owners Russell “Aaron” Cox and Robert “Casey” Hopton recently opened their salvaging company and begun operations to retrieve the finest wood available for their customers. As licensed Florida Department of Environmental Protection "Master Deadhead Loggers", they understand the importance of protecting the environment, while making the wood available, so that customers are able to enjoy its beauty.

Blackwater Heartwood Salvage, LLC recovers logs that were cut down in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, that have been preserved by the rivers for over one hundred years. A lot of the logs today are found from early sawmills and had sunk to the bottom of nearby rivers.

The logs that sunk during transport to the sawmills were likely to be denser and of higher quality wood than the other virgin growth logs that made the journey.
